1920s F. LANSDOWNE CROCODILE WEEKEND DRESSING CASE

Sale price£995.00

Magnificent 1920s F. Lansdowne Crocodile dressing Case

A stunning example of a Crocodile weekend Case, made by F. Lansdown, 55 Jermyn Street London. Advertised as makers of suit and dressing-cases, dressing bags, trunks, and portmanteau- items are scarce. The fittings are always of high quality brass or gold covered brass, always cast (not stamped out) metal.

A very collectable piece and a desirable antique in the true sense of the word.

A usable dark brown Vintage Crocodile leather suitcase in great condition and made in England around about the turn of the last century. The case comes with 2 brass locks to the front. The handle is held in place with 2 brass D rings. The watermarked silk lining is in good condition. The makers name is embossed on gold to the front of the case. The case comes with its original canvas storm cover, and a separate cover for the handle.

All the stitching is in perfect condition.

This case front has the initials A.L.T embossed in gold.

Increasingly it is rare to find Crocodile cases that are in good enough shape to be used...this is one of them.

Another great weekend case, for those that like to travel in style.
