1920s LARGE FINNIGANS LEATHER SHOE TRUNK

£1,150.00

A beautiful example of a leather suitcase, made by Finnigan of Manchester. The House of Finnigan was a British Luxury luggage and trunk maker established in 1830, originally in Manchester and later in New Bond Street in London.

This shoe trunk is in remarkably good condition for its age. The leather has been fed and is in a nice supple state. There are no rips and tears to the case and the stitching is all intact and strong. There is a green baize lined covered tray with wooden compartments that lifts out, this tray also has a lid that sits on top. To the base of the trunk you will find further wooden compartments for shoes, again lined in green baize. Both brass locks are in  working order. The leather handles at each end are held in place with solid brass fittings.

This case is rather large... Measuring 81cm wide x 38cm deep x 29cm high. Ideally suited for the back of Vintage car or as part of an interior design scheme. For someone who has always desired a beautiful leather shoe trunk made by one of the top luggage manufacturers of the day, then this is for you.
