1930s Ladies Pleated Cream Twill Shorts

£145.00

Regular price £145.00 Sale

Made from beautifully soft lightweight cream twill; these summer shorts are a very close reproduction of a pleated short which would have been seen mainly in a sports environment . In the 1930s, short styles were loose and billowing, with voluminous amounts of fabric. They were worn high on the waist, often featuring pleats to control the fullness at the waistline while flaring out over hips and upper thighs. This early style of short developed from sportswear, with this style being worn for tennis and similar sporting activities. This pair has been given a generous leg, and has a wide waistband, double pleats and belt loops. Team our shorts with the ochre coloured Chambray shirt for that Kristin Scott Thomas English Patient look.

Made in England.
