1935 HASTINGS 3-PIECE TWEED SUIT

This exquisite three-piece tweed ensemble is expertly hand-cut and crafted in England by a seasoned tailor with Savile Row pedigree. The pattern is faithfully reproduced from an original 1935 suit originating in Hastings, capturing the hallmarks and detailing of that distinguished era. The cloth is a wide herringbone tweed in a soft brown tone, sourced from the renowned Magee of Donegal—an ideal weight and hue for the autumn and winter seasons.

The jacket is cut in a single-breasted style with a period-accurate silhouette, featuring a structured shoulder, gently roped sleevehead, and sweeping notch lapels true to the 1930s aesthetic. It fastens with three genuine corozo buttons and is fully lined in a lustrous viscose rayon satin from Bernstein & Banleys for a smooth and breathable finish.

The trousers are cut with a high rise and a traditional fishtail (split-back) waistband, allowing for easy adjustment and proper brace-wearing. Brace buttons are affixed as standard. While slimmer than our standard Errol cut, the leg is tailored to complement the proportions of the jacket, offering a clean and balanced line. For additional comfort, the trousers are half-lined to the knee.

Completing the ensemble is a classic waistcoat, cut with three welt pockets and secured with six corozo buttons. As with the rest of the suit, it is tailored with period authenticity and modern comfort in mind.
