A Focus on our 1935 Hastings Summer 3-Piece Moleskin suit

If you’re in the mood for something a little different this season, this three-piece suit is a real joy to talk about. It has that easy kind of elegance—the sort that turns heads without ever trying too hard.

One of the first things worth mentioning (and something we’re particularly fond of) is that it’s entirely made in England. Not just assembled here and there, but genuinely hand-cut by a seasoned tailor with proper Savile Row pedigree. That heritage runs right through the piece, and it gives the whole suit a reassuring sense of authenticity. Even the cloth plays its part—a lightweight, off-white moleskin sourced from an English mill, with just the right feel for warmer days.

The design itself takes its cues from a 1935 original discovered in Hastings, which gives it plenty of character. The jacket, for example, has all those lovely period details: a single-breasted front, structured shoulders, a softly roped sleevehead, and sweeping notch lapels that feel unmistakably 1930s. It fastens with three corozo buttons and is lined in a smooth viscose rayon satin from Bernstein & Banleys—comfortable, breathable, and nicely finished.

Turn upsThe trousers are equally considered. They sit high on the waist and feature a traditional fishtail back, made with braces in mind (buttons already in place, of course). The cut is a touch slimmer than the standard Errol, but still nicely balanced, giving a clean, flattering line. They’re also half-lined to the knee, which makes them that bit more comfortable to wear day-to-day.

Rounding things off is a classic waistcoat, with three welt pockets and six corozo buttons—simple, elegant, and very much in keeping with the rest of the suit.

All in all, it’s a piece that feels full of character without being fussy—thoughtfully made, easy to wear, and unmistakably English in both spirit and craftsmanship.
